CAN demands Rs 5 lakh bail from suspended DG Adhikari, why is he not released?

Kathmandu. KATHMANDU: The Special Court has sought bail of Rs 500,000 from Pradip Adhikari, the suspended Director General of Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN).

Pokhara International Airport (Pokhara) has been arrested in connection with a corruption case related to the construction of Pokhara International Airport.

A division bench of Justices Sudarshan Dev Bhatta and Dilli Ratna Shrestha issued the bail order today.

Even if the court asks for bail, the officer will remain in custody. Earlier, the Supreme Court had remanded Adhikari to judicial custody in connection with the corruption case related to the construction of a heliport at Nalinchowk of Bhaktapur. He will remain in custody on the basis of the order.

The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) has filed a corruption case against 55 persons including him on the charge of corruption at Pokhara Airport.
