Kathmandu. The Department of Commerce, Supplies and Consumer Protection has taken action against four industries and firms. The Department has slapped a fine of Rs 20,000 on the Warm Nepali Vinegar Industry based in Madhyapur Thimi.
It has also penalized Shree Chonga Ganesh Hardware and Krishna Plywood and Paint of Sallaghari, Bhaktapur with a fine of Rs 10,000 each. Likewise, the court imposed a fine of Rs 10,000 on Imran Readymade of Kathmandu Metropolitan City-16. According to the department, action was taken against them under Section 15 of the Consumer Protection Act, 2075 and Section 38 (D).
The Department on Monday had monitored 15 different firms in Kathmandu, Bhaktapur and Lalitpur. Among them, 11 were given general directives to make necessary improvements in the business and enforce the laws, according to the details provided by the department.
