Internet companies to revoke licenses if they fail to pay royalties within 35 days

Kathmandu. Nepal Telecommunication Authority (NTA) has asked 20 Internet Service Providers (ISPs) to pay royalty and fees of Rural Telecommunication Development Fund (RTDF) within 35 days. The Authority has issued a public notice to pay the fee within 35 days.

The authority has also threatened to take action against the license of the service provider if they do not pay royalty and RTDF within 35 days. As per the NTA Act, all telecom service providers are required to pay 4 percent royalty and 2 percent RTDF charges of annual earnings.
