Dang. Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC) has announced discount on fares to people with disabilities, children and senior citizens while operating flights from Tulsipur-based Tarigaun Airport in Dang.

Bal Bahadur Sunar, chief of the Airlines, said that the airline charges Rs 8,775 for passengers travelling from Dang to Kathmandu and it has been arranged to charge only Rs 7,645 for such passengers. According to him, flights are currently operating from Tarigaun four days a week.

Flights take place on Sunday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, however, the number of passengers is less. He said that there are not more than four to five passengers daily.

Chief Sunar said although the number of passengers used to be there till October, the number of passengers is less now. He said that arrangements have also been made to provide some discount to students, senior citizens, disabled and helpless.

Large aircraft are not able to accommodate the airport as the runway is also small. At present, passengers have to go to Bhairahawa or Nepalgunj due to irregular problems even with only 19 seater aircraft.

Currently, the runway of the airport is 750 meters. Calls for expansion of the runway have been raised time and again. The airport was established in 2011 BS.
