Kathmandu. Employees and workers of Reliance Spinning Mills have taken to the streets to protest, saying that some middlemen and fake activists are trying to destroy the capital market for their personal gains and gains. According to the company, they have also issued a stern collective warning to stop the business of selfishness through social media.
Employees and workers have raised their voices in favor of production, employment and prosperity of the country through social networks.
They have vented their anger on social media, targeting some individuals and groups who have repeatedly filed writ petitions in the court by disobeying the court’s intention and order, keeping their personal interests at the center.
This is probably the first time in Nepal’s industrial history that the workers of the company have come out in an organized resistance against the ‘letter-pad’ activists.
Madhusudan Luitel, who has been working with Reliance Industries for the past 29 years, has claimed that the self-proclaimed moneylenders, fake activists and ret bahadurs of the capital market have repeatedly held the investment of 20,000 investors hostage with the intention of bargaining, snatching away the jobs of hundreds of workers and destroying the industrial environment.
“The industry has directly benefited me, the employees working here and their families, and indirectly benefited millions,” he said, “It has also contributed a lot to the country’s economy, so it is the duty of all of you to protect the national industry of this level.” He also urged people not to go after those who are trying to fill their bags by selling negativity and bargaining and to invest confidently.
SP Upreti, another employee who has been working for the past 15 years, said that a few people are playing with the future of the employees and workers dependent on such a big industry and industries in the country by ‘bargaining’ in the name of ‘public interest’.
“We are not only getting salaries but also a good bonus from the company’s profits every year, because of this company, today I am able to work in the country and feed my family,” he said, “But today some ‘fake activists’ are trying to take away our livelihood by making false cases and media talk.” Stating that they are in favour of production and employment, he said, “Stop bargaining and let the country be built.”
Mamata Giri, who works at the company, said that Reliance is not only an industry but the hope, sweat of thousands of families and dreams of the future. “This industry is not only mine, but is associated with the employment, livelihood and future of thousands of Nepali families. This is the reason why our family is running and the dream of a house has come true,” she said, adding, “I want to say personally that the country should move forward through solutions, dialogue and production, not disputes, bargaining and confusion.” ’
Ramesh Adhikari echoed Mamata’s sentiments. “Someone is trying to create industrial damage and blur the economic and social environment of the society and the entire country by becoming fake activists,” he said. “I have been working at Reliance for 15 years, 4,500 people like me have sweated here,” he asked, “But is it in the interest of the country, society and family to start the game of shutting down the IPO today?”
Another employee of the staff, Kanchan Poudel, expressed concern that their employment is in danger due to some fake activists. “We work here to bring happiness and prosperity to our families,” he said, adding, “But some fake activists are putting our jobs and industries in jeopardy by making false allegations and media talk.” ’
