Kathmandu. KATHMANDU: The final match of the second edition of Nepal Premier League (NPL) is taking place today.
The final match will be played at 3:30 pm at the Tribhuvan University International Cricket Ground, Kirtipur.
In the first qualifier, Sudurpaschim defeated Biratnagar by 77 runs to reach the title. Lumbini defeated Biratnagar by 40 runs in the second qualifier to book its place in the final. Biratnagar, which lost to Far-Western in the first qualifier, got a chance to play in the second qualifier.
The team captained by Dipendra Singh Airee is a contender for the title. Sudurpaschim Province, which lost to Janakpur Bolts by 5 wickets in the final last year, is aiming to defend the title this time.
Lumbini, led by Rohit Poudel, who was eliminated from the league stage in the last edition, is hoping to win the trophy this time. In the league match, Sudurpaschim had won by 7 wickets.
The winner of the APL will get Rs 1.10 crore. The second runner-up will get Rs 51 lakh, the third Rs 25 lakh and the fourth Rs 15 lakh.
A total of eight teams had taken part in the tournament organized by Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) from November 1.
