Persa. The Birgunj Metropolitan City has removed the shops that were operating temporarily by encroaching upon BP Park adjacent to Ghantaghar Chowk.
Mayor of the metropolis Rajesh Man Singh said that the garden will be made more systematic by removing the fruits, vegetables and other shops from the main cities.
He said that the park is being constructed by removing the fruits, vegetables and other temporary shops of the park adjacent to the clock tower. “We have removed the haphazard market by installing an excavator this morning. People who have been doing business here are removing the goods,” said Mayor Singh.
More than 250 people were operating in the area, including temporary houses, vegetables, fruit and clothing shops and food stalls. Mayor Singh said that the plan to build a beautiful and green park will be forwarded at a cost of about Rs 70 crore. He informed that necessary infrastructure has been prepared on the railway road at Chhapkaiya for those displaced from here. The market was evacuated with the presence of a large number of police personnel, Nepal Police and Armed Police Force.
