Kathmandu. China on Saturday launched a “Quaizhou-11” rocket from the Jiochuan Satellite Launch Center in northwest China.
The rocket carried an experimental spacecraft and a satellite. The rocket lifted off at 9:08 am and successfully injected its payload into the designated orbit.
The Deer-5 spacecraft was developed by the Beijing-based Commercial Space Agency. It can operate in orbit for up to a year and has the ability to send test data back to Earth.
Deer-5 has a service and load module and has a storage space of 1.8 cubic meters. The journey includes 34 experiments from universities, research institutions and companies. These experiments are related to the testing of space technology, space materials science and new technologies.
It has two thin solar panels. In addition, it has equipment such as cameras, space environment measurement instruments, space plant growth facilities, small space laboratories and flexible closed compartments. The mission also carried the Xiwang-5 second stage satellite, developed by the China Academy of Space Technology.
The Quizhou-11 is a solid-fuel rocket developed by the China Institute of Space Science and Industry. It can carry a tonne of load into a 700-kilometer sun-parallel orbit. This is the fourth launch of the Quaizhou-11.
