Kathmandu. The date for the 12th international general convention of the Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA) has been fixed.

The steering committee formed after the NRNA unification has fixed the date for the 12th international general convention of the association. The second meeting of the committee held on Sunday night decided to hold the general convention and elections on February 23, 24 and 25, 2026.

According to a press release issued by general secretaries Gauri Raj Joshi and BR Lama, the meeting also fixed the date for the general convention and also took several important decisions for institutional unity and consolidation.

The meeting also formed a five-member NCC Unity Facilitation Committee under the convenorship of Gangadhar Gautam to facilitate the unification of the National Coordination Committee (NCC). The committee comprises Narayan Kafle, Chiranjivi Khadka, Shani Oli and Tika Gurung as the joint coordinator.

Similarly, to spread the message of greater unity and in preparation for the general convention,

General Secretary Lama said that it has been decided to organize interaction and dialogue programs in different areas. The event will be held on December 19 in the Middle East and Africa, December 20 in Asia Pacific and Oceania and December 21 in the Americas and Europe.

Similarly, the meeting decided to strictly enforce the discipline and responsibilities of the steering committee and set a deadline for all the members of the committee to sign the commitment letter before the next meeting. It has also been decided not to allow the members who do not sign the agreement to participate in the upcoming meeting. Likewise, the meeting also decided to increase 2 members to the membership committee and increase it to 7 members.

The meeting also appealed to all the Non-Resident Nepali Community (NRNs) and National Coordination Council (NCC) around the world to make the 12th General Convention a historic success and to start preparations immediately.
