Kathmandu. KATHMANDU: The Bank and Financial Institutions Employees Confederation of Nepal (CBFIN) has condemned the shameful, disgusting and violent misbehavior meted out to the staffers of the Jyoti Bikas Bank branch in Rupani of Saptari district. According to Cibfin, the bank’s employees were treated unfairly when they came to the meeting to resolve the issue of the bank’s loan installments not being regularized for a long time.
The borrower group led by the responsible officials of the local level has systematically controlled the bank employees for hours and behaved inhumanely and animally. According to Sibfin, the incident also included a violent attack on the employee. However, the association has expressed serious objection to the local security bodies exerting pressure for settlement without registering the victim’s complaint instead of bringing the culprits to book. Sibfin believes that such behavior sends a message that protects the guilty rather than provides a sense of justice.
The association has strongly demanded the Government of Nepal, the Ministry of Home Affairs and its subordinate security bodies to take stern action against all those involved in such barbaric incidents that have a serious psychological impact on the lives of dutiful employees.TAG_OPEN_div_20
“As the government works to promote peace, security, good governance and economic activities by easing the unusual situation following the Genji Movement, the CIFIN said it views the attack on banks and financial institutions and their employees as an attack not only on the employees or the banking sector, but also on the state system itself.”TAG_OPEN_div_18
