Police to seriously investigate those involved in smearing soot on employees of Jyoti Bikas Bank

Kathmandu. The police have seriously investigated the officials of Saptakoshi Integrative Agriculture Firm who misbehaved and beat up the employees of Jyoti Bikas Bank.

According to the District Police Office, Saptari, a complaint is being registered on behalf of the victim today. “We have asked the complainant to come with the necessary documents as some processes are yet to be completed in the complaint submitted earlier,” said an official of the office. Now this petition will be filed. The official said that the matter will be investigated very seriously once the application is filed.

The official said that no one should take the law into their own hands in the work done in accordance with the law. Officials of the borrower Saptakoshi Integrative Agriculture Firm had not paid the principal and interest of the loan of more than Rs 10 million SME for 118 days. While going to discuss the same issue, 2 employees of the bank were beaten up and misbehaved. The attention of the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers has also been drawn to this issue. Due to this, the police will investigate the matter rapidly.

Locals of Saptakoshi Municipality-7 of Saptari district smeared soda and garlanded them with shoes as the bank’s staff did not pay the loan on time. On December 10, the employees of Rupani branch of Saptari had gone to a borrower in Saptakoshi Municipality-7.

Prakash Baral, information officer of Jyoti Bikas Bank, said that the borrowers gathered the locals and misbehaved with the locals, beat them up and garland them with shoes.

Baral said that the bank has also informed the NRB, Development Bank Association, Confederation of Bank and Financial Institutions (CBFIN) and Bankers’ Association about the same.
