Kathmandu. Newly appointed Vice-Chairman of the National Planning Commission Dr. Prakash Kumar Shrestha and Member Prof. Suniti Shrestha (HADA) has taken the oath of office and secrecy.
Shrestha administered the oath of office and secrecy to EC Chairperson and Prime Minister Sushila Karki amidst a programme here today. Immediately after this, Hada administered oath of office and secrecy to Vice-President Shrestha in the presence of Prime Minister Karki.
Member of the National Planning Commission and Chief Secretary Suman Raj Aryal, Secretary at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers Raj Kumar Shrestha, Secretary of the Commission Rabilal Pantha and other high-ranking government officials were present on the occasion.
On the occasion, Prime Minister Karki congratulated the newly-appointed vice-chairperson and members and wished them a successful term. He directed to study the current situation of the country thoroughly and prepare plans as per the aspirations of the Genji youths.
“We have given you this responsibility as experts,” PM Karki said, adding, “You are aware of the current situation of the country.” We have to take steps to understand this situation. The country’s plans and programs should also be designed according to the spirit of the youth movement for change. We should study the current situation well and work in a way to improve the country’s reputation. I hope you will succeed in this task. ’
The meeting of the Council of Ministers held on Monday had decided on the appointment of vice-chairperson and members of the commission.
