Everyone’s cooperation needed to make March 4 election free and fair: PM Karki

Kathmandu. KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Sushila Karki has said election is the only alternative to take the country ahead on the path of constitutional, democratic rules and good governance. Addressing the 107th establishment day function of Lalitpur Metropolitan City here today, Prime Minister Karki said the government was fully committed to successfully holding the House of Representatives election scheduled for March 4.

Stating that a new situation has emerged in the country after the agitation of Jenji youths on September TAG_OPEN_div_12 7 and 24, the Prime Minister said that the government was now pursuing good governance and election as the main agenda. According to him, preparatory works have been intensified with the goal of holding the election on the stipulated date. She said the government was eager to hand over power to the government as per the new people’s aspirations to be expressed through the election.

Stating that cooperation from all sides was essential to hold the elections in a cost-effective, fair, fair and fear-free environment, the Prime Minister urged citizens, political parties, civil society and stakeholders to play responsible role from their respective sides.TAG_OPEN_div_10 “Election is the safe and legitimate way for the consolidation and stability of democracy,” she said.
