Finance Minister Khanal urges Chinese investors to mobilize capital in Nepal

Kathmandu. Finance Minister Rameshwor Khanal has stressed on increasing Nepal-China economic cooperation and investment.

Speaking at a workshop on Nepal-China Economic Cooperation and Investment organized in the capital on Friday, Minister Khanal urged Chinese investors to confidently mobilize capital in Nepal as Nepal has been implementing various economic reform programmes to attract foreign investment.

Finance Minister Khanal said that Nepal and China should identify different areas of economic cooperation and work together as Nepal has created a favourable environment for attracting foreign investment.

China’s ambassador to Nepal, Chen Song, said the Chinese investors were increasing their presence in Nepal. Chinese investors are willing to collaborate with Nepal in the areas of industrial development, energy and infrastructure construction, he said, highlighting the multi-dimensional relations between the two countries. He also pledged all possible support from his country to Nepal.
