Finance urges local levels not to charge fees while using routes for transportation of goods

Kathmandu. The Ministry of Finance has urged the provinces and local levels to make arrangements not to charge any fees while using the route only for the transportation of goods.

The Ministry of Finance has issued a circular to the provincial governments through the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers and to the local levels through the Ministry of Federal Affairs and General Administration. The circular states that the local farmers, businessmen and businesses should not be charged any fee that will have a negative impact on them financially.

The Ministry has reminded that the local level should not collect any kind of tax and charge on the transportation of goods from another district or local level only for the transportation of goods against the provisions of the constitution and prevailing laws.

“The Finance Ministry has decided to request the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers and all local levels to inform all provincial governments to ensure that no tax, fees and fees are levied against the constitution and prevailing laws,” the Finance Ministry said.

It is stated that the decision was taken at the Finance Minister level on December 9 and a letter has been sent to all concerned for necessary action. The Ministry of Finance took this decision after it came to know that some local levels have been collecting taxes, fees and charges on agricultural products imported from other local levels.
