Genji agitation: Insurance claims 23.45 billion, Rs 5.18 billion paid

Kathmandu. Non-life insurance companies have been claimed to the tune of Rs 23.45 billion for physical and other damages caused during the GenG agitation on September 7 and 24. A total of 3,303 insurance claims have been filed for the incident.

Out of the claimed amount, the insurance companies have so far paid about Rs 5.18 billion to the insured including advance payment.TAG_OPEN_div_12 As per the latest data provided by the authority, out of the total claim amount paid by 14 non-life insurance companies and 4 micro insurance insurance companies, 710 insurance claims have been paid in advance amount, while the claim amount has been paid to around Rs 3.82 billion out of Rs 19.02 billion and 2,311 claims towards motor insurance have been paid to around Rs 1.22 billion out of Rs 3.47 billion ।

Similarly, 225 insurance claims under engineering and contract risk insurance have a claim amount of about Rs 55.47 crore, transport insurance has about Rs 1.69 crore for 12 insurance claims, about Rs 1.55 crore out of claim amount and about Rs 38.40 crore for other insurance claims.TAG_OPEN_div_10 The payment has been made.

Nepal Reinsurance Company (NBCL) has paid Rs 3.TAG_OPEN_div_8 02 billion in advance to the non-life insurance companies to pay the insurance claims for the physical and other damages caused during the Zenji agitation.
