Kathmandu. “Nepal has adopted a strict policy of zero tolerance against corruption and has been expeditiously implementing legal, administrative and institutional reforms,” the statement clarified.
Nepal is in the phase of fulfilling its obligations under the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) action plan.
Nepal said this at the 11th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Convention Against Corruption held in Doha, Qatar.
Secretary at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers, Govinda Bahadur Karki, who led the Nepali delegation, said that the interim government was formed with the objective of promoting good governance and controlling corruption.
According to the Nepali Embassy in Doha, Secretary Karki reaffirmed Nepal’s commitment to the United Nations Convention Against Corruption and highlighted the efforts taken by the government to control abuse of office, bribery, money laundering and amassing illegal assets by declaring it as a crime.
