India is a big contributor to Nepal’s economy: Finance Minister Khanal

Kathmandu. Finance Minister Rameshwor Khanal has said that India is the biggest market for Nepal’s import and export. He said that India has made a big contribution to Nepal’s economy.

Addressing a program organized to mark the 31st establishment day of Nepal-India Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Minister Khanal said this during a program organized to mark the 31st establishment day of Nepal-India Chamber of Commerce and Industry. He said that Nepal and India share historical, geographical and cultural ties. “India is the biggest market for Nepal’s import and export and it has a big contribution to Nepal’s economy,” he said.

On the occasion, Minister Khanal said that the role played by the Nepal-India Chamber of Commerce and Industry in strengthening the economy between Nepal and India was significant. Stating that India is a major trade partner of Nepal, he said Nepal has been partnering with India in the sectors of energy and infrastructure.

On the occasion, President of Nepal India Chamber of Commerce and Industry Sunil KC said that the Association has been working for the last three decades in the areas of trade and investment between Nepal and India.

On the occasion, companies under the association that pay good tax through industry and trade were honoured. On the occasion, an interaction was held on the role of private sector in the construction of inter-country transmission line.
