Kathmandu. US President Donald Trump has suspended the Diversified Visa Lottery (DV). The DV lottery, which allows citizens of countries with many unsettled countries to apply for permanent residency, has been temporarily suspended.

The announcement comes a month after the Trump administration said it would make changes to the 2027 DV lottery entry process.

Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem said the decision was taken at Trump’s direction to suspend the US Citizenship and Immigration Services program.
