Kathmandu. The Department of Commerce, Supply and Consumer Protection has penalized three hotels with cash fines.

Hotel Blisful Pvt Ltd, Koteshwor, Kathmandu has been fined Rs 50,000, Golmadevi Bhojyalaya and Lodge Rs 5,000 and Chadeshwari Newari Eatery Koteshwor Rs 5,000. The action was taken against them as per Section 39 (1) of the Consumer Protection Act, 2075.

Similarly, the department has issued corrective directives after carrying out on-site monitoring and inspection of other 11 firms. The Department has clarified that it has been regularly monitoring the market with the objective of controlling black marketing, banning the sale and distribution of inedible goods and enforcing laws.
