Nepalis extract 24,000 kg of teeth in five months

. KATHMANDU: There has been a significant increase in the import of toothpicks in Nepal. In the first five months of the current fiscal year, the import of toothpicks amounted to Rs 82.05 million.

Nepal imported 24,2 TAG_OPEN_div_14 66 kg of toothpicks till mid-December of the current fiscal year. The government has collected Rs 32.08 lakh from the import of toothpicks.

According to the data released by the Department of Customs, the highest number of such goods have been imported from China in the first five months of the current fiscal year.TAG_OPEN_div_12 Nepal imported 14,918 kilograms of toothpaste and 9,046 kilograms of wooden toothpicks from China.

Similarly, a small quantity of 50 kg toothpick and 50 kg wooden toothpick have been imported from India during this period.TAG_OPEN_div_10 Similarly, 202 kilograms of wooden toothpick was also imported from Thailand.
