Kathmandu. The stock market closed higher on Wednesday. On Wednesday, the NEPSE index increased by 1.37 points to close at 2585.87 points. Likewise, the Sensitive Float Index increased by 0.94 points, while the Float Index increased by 0.17 points and the Sensitive Float Index increased by 0.46 points.
Although the stock market rose on Wednesday, the volume of transactions decreased. Shares worth Rs 3.42 billion were traded on Tuesday while shares worth Rs 3.22 billion were traded today.
Out of 13 sub-groups, the indices of six sub-groups have fallen. The index of the remaining 7 sub-groups decreased today. Today, the index of banking sector increased while the index of 7 sub-groups decreased. Banking, hotel and tourism, production and processing, mutual funds, non-life insurance and business sub-group indices increased slightly.
Shares of Infinity Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Ltd were the top gainers on the day, rising by 5.32 percent. Shares of Rural Development Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha and Corporate Development Bank fell by more than 4 percent on the day.
On the basis of transaction amount, SY Panel Nepal topped the list on the day. The company’s shares worth Rs 14.49 crore were traded on the day. Similarly, shares of Manjushree Finance Ltd worth Rs 12.5 crore were traded today while the turnover of Terhathum Power Company crossed Rs 9.5 crore.
