Kathmandu. KATHMANDU: The Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) has spent 18.48 per cent of its budget in the first five months of the current fiscal year.
Deputy Mayor of the metropolis Sunita Dangol informed about this at the 18th municipal assembly today.
A total budget of Rs 25.76 billion for the fiscal year 2082/83 has been approved and implemented including Rs 25.11 billion to be spent in the micro fund and Rs 650 million in other expenditure.
In the current fiscal year, the Cumulative Fund is estimated to accumulate Rs 25.11 billion, of which Rs 20.12 billion is expected to come from internal income and bank reserves and the rest from the government of Nepal and the provincial governments through conditional, equalization and revenue allocation.
A total of Rs 4.64 billion has been spent till December 23 of the current fiscal year. This is 18.48 percent of the total allocation. According to Deputy Mayor Dangol, current expenditure is 28.44 per cent and capital expenditure is 12.39 per cent.
According to Deputy Mayor Dangol, 14.01 per cent has been spent on infrastructure development, 15.15 per cent in economic development, 16.22 per cent on social development and 12.06 per cent in good governance and related sectors. The highest amount of 45.99 per cent of the expenditure has been spent in office operation and administrative sector.
