With the increasing use of electric cars in the Nepali market, various companies in Nepal have been importing electric vehicles made in China through Korala border point of late. The demand for electric vehicles has increased in Nepal as the government has provided customs duty concession to such vehicles as they are useful in saving fuel and reducing carbon emissions.

The movement and performance of the customs office at Korala border point has become dynamic with the entry of electric vehicles from China through Korala border point even in inclement weather of winter. Located at an altitude of 4,610 meters, the temperature in the morning and evening is minus 20 degrees. Electric vehicles are entering Nepal through Korala border point despite adverse weather.

Drivers have started ferrying electric vehicles to Jomsom and from Jomsom to Pokhara. In this way, electric vehicles coming out of Mustang are transported by another driver group from Pokhara to the showroom of the concerned company.

Before that, the drivers who have passed the local border from the Chinese customs point use the electric vehicles entering Nepal through the Korala border point. Although it was expected that the Korala border point would be closed due to bad weather, the import÷export between the two countries has been picked up through the Korala border point due to the influx of goods and electric vehicles from the Chinese side.

The charging stations operated along the Beni-Jomsom-Korala road section are busy with the entry of electric vehicles through the border point. Although the people of Upper Mustang have come down to the valley in the winter season, the import÷export transaction at Korala border point has not decreased.
