Birgunj. The Birgunj Customs Office has collected Rs 30.25 billion from the import of petroleum products in the first five months of the current fiscal year.
The revenue was collected after importing five types of petroleum products worth Rs 72.28 billion in the first five months of the current fiscal year. The share of petroleum products in revenue is 31.39 percent.
Udaya Singh Bista, information officer at the Birgunj Customs Office, said import of petroleum products and vehicles is the major revenue source for the customs.
The second highest revenue was Rs 12.74 billion from the import of transport vehicles and their parts. However, the share of vehicles and spare parts in the import was 13.22 percent.
Likewise, Rs 5.65 billion has been collected from the collection of iron and goods made from iron. Similarly, Rs 4.85 billion revenue was collected from the import of clothes. Birgunj Customs Office has collected Rs 96.38 billion in revenue in the first five months of the current fiscal year.
