Kathmandu. Kathmandu’s temperature recorded the lowest of the year.
According to the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, the minimum temperature in Kathmandu Valley was recorded at 4.8 degrees Celsius today.
This is the lowest temperature of the year. Earlier, the minimum temperature in Kathmandu Valley was recorded at 4.9 degrees Celsius on December 22. The lowest temperature was recorded today.
Information Officer at the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, Dinkar Kayastha, said fog, mist and cold wave is prevailing in the Tarai region while snowfall is taking place in the mountainous region. The cold is expected to increase further. The temperature in Jumla was minus 4.5 degrees Celsius today.
As per the bulletin released today night, there will be generally cloudy in most parts of the Tarai region while the weather will be partly cloudy in the Karnali and Sudurpaschim Province as well as in the rest of the hilly and mountainous region on December 30.
According to the Meteorological Forecasting Division, there are chances of light rain and snowfall at one or two places of the high hilly and mountainous regions of Koshi, Gandaki and Karnali provinces. It has been requested to take necessary precaution as the same situation will remain the same on January 3.
Daily life, health, roads and air transport would be partially affected due to the impact of fog in the Tarai region.
