Ex-minister Gupta sent to judicial custody for alleged Rs 78 lakh bribe

Kathmandu. The Special Court has remanded former minister Raj Kumar Gupta to judicial custody in connection with a bribery case.

Gupta has been remanded in judicial custody under the Prevention of Corruption Act (ACA) in connection with a bribe of Rs 78 lakh.

The court has ordered that the provision of fine and confiscation of bribe money will be enforced.

A division bench of Justices Sudarshan Dev Bhatta, Dilli Ratna Shrestha and Bidur Koirala issued the order today. According to the order, there is evidence that Gupta, while serving as the Minister for Federal Affairs and General Administration and as a Member of Parliament, used other people to receive bribes.
