Kathmandu. The Department of Commerce, Supplies and Consumer Protection (DoM), which has been regularly monitoring the market, has inspected 17 farms in a single day.
According to the department, a firm has been fined cash in course of monitoring in different places of Kathmandu.
Ugrachandi Food Store has been fined Rs 20,000. Action was taken against the accused as per Section 15 and 38 (d) of the Consumer Protection Act, 2075.
Similarly, Nincontinental Pvt. Ltd. has been directed to present the department within three days with documents related to the business. Similarly, the department has issued corrective directives to 15 other firms. It has been conducting regular market monitoring with the participation of local administration, people’s representatives and stakeholders to maintain cleanliness in the market.
