Kathmandu. KATHMANDU: The National Statistical Office (NSO) has released the schedule, logo and main slogan of the Second National Economic Census, 2082.

The census will be conducted across the country from Chaitra 1, 2082 to Ashad end, 2083 BS with the slogan “Economic Census for Measuring Economy”.

According to the office, 84 economic census offices would be set up in 77 districts with the objective of getting a realistic picture of the overall economic situation of the country through statistical means. The results obtained from this census will be made public gradually from the beginning of fiscal year 2083÷084.

The National Economic Census will be used to collect details on number of industries, trade, business, service sector, cooperatives and private-public institutions, investment, employment, production and service delivery. It will help strengthen GDP estimates, revise the base year of the national accounts and help in policy formulation and planning, the office said.

Earlier, in the first National Economic Census conducted in 2075 BS, more than 923,000 enterprises and enterprises were counted across the country and around 3.2 million people were employed.

KATHMANDU: The National Statistical Office has urged the active and honest participation of media persons, entrepreneurs, entrepreneurs, industrialists and all stakeholders for the success of the census, describing the National Economic Census-2082 as a comprehensive national campaign.
