Kathmandu. A bus accident took place at Shankharapur Municipality-3 in Kathmandu this morning.

The bus (Ba 4 Kha 8788) en route to Sankhu from Jerseypauwa met with the accident at Shankharapur municipality-3, Phedi jungle this evening, informed Superintendent of Police (SP) at the Valley Traffic Police Office Naresh Raj Subedi.

There were about 40 passengers. Police said at least 30 people were injured and some were in critical condition.

“The accident took place when the bus fell some 100 meters down from the road. All of them have been rescued from the incident site and sent to various hospitals. The bus is at the scene and other details are awaited. ”

Further investigation into the accident is underway, said Subedi.
