Kathmandu. At least four people were killed in a bus accident that took place at Shankharapur municipality-3 in Kathmandu this evening.

Spokesperson of the District Police Range, Kathmandu, Superintendent of Police Pawan Kumar Bhattarai said that the death of four people has been confirmed and 22 others have been injured. The identity of the deceased is yet to be ascertained.

They were killed when a bus (Ba 4 Kha 8788) they were returning from a picnic met with an accident, he said.

The accident took place around 6 p.m. As many as 22 people were injured in the accident. They are receiving treatment at different hospitals in Kathmandu. They have been receiving treatment at Nepal Medical College, Shankharapur Hospital, Mulpani Nagar Hospital and Sushma Koirala Hospital.

The bus was carrying 40 passengers. According to the police, the bus carrying the employees of Nature Herb had taken a picnic when the accident took place.
