Kathmandu. KATHMANDU: Minister for Forest and Environment, Madhav Prasad Chaulagain, has taken charge as the Minister for Physical Infrastructure and Transport.

On the occasion, he signed a decision to request the Asian Development Bank to include the Karnali Highway in the upcoming pipeline project for road safety and upgrade.

He also decided to shift the bailey bridge to connect Tatopani rural municipality-4 with the Tila River at Tatopani rural municipality-5 in the context of the construction of a concrete bridge over Hima River at Nagma, the border of Jumla and Kalikot districts.

Chaulagain also signed on the meeting to form a five-member committee under the coordination of Joint-Secretary at the Ministry, Sushil Babu Dhakal, to suggest for revising the criteria for qualifications for class ‘D’ in the Contractors Regulations, 2056 BS.

Prime Minister Sushila Karki had entrusted the responsibility of the Ministry of Forest and Soil Conservation to Chaulagain after the then Minister for Physical Infrastructure Kul Man Ghising resigned from his post on Wednesday.
