Kathmandu. KATHMANDU: A special general convention of the Nepali Congress has begun at Bhrikutimandap in Kathmandu today.

The special convention delegates have registered their names since 8 am today.

The special general convention will be inaugurated at 1 pm. According to the Special General Convention People’s Mobilization Committee, leaders and cadres of the party will reach Bhrikutimandap at 11:00 am today.

According to the committee, the rally will march towards Bhrikutimandap from Sundhara, Ratnapark, Padma Kanya Campus Chowk, Shankardev Campus and Kamal Pokhari of Kathmandu. Similarly, another procession from Kupandole of Lalitpur will arrive at Bhrikutimandap with a procession.

The stage of the program to be held in the open ground at Bhrikutimandap has 50 chairs and more than 6,000 chairs in the ground.

Nepali Congress flags, banners and publicity materials have been placed around the stage.

Accommodation and food management committee coordinator Ramesh Dhamala said that accommodation has been arranged for 3,600 delegates coming to attend the special general convention. The convention delegates have been accommodated at various hotels in Sundhara, Bagbazaar, Thamel, Airport, Sinamangal and Gaushala areas of Kathmandu.
