Kathmandu. KATHMANDU: The special general convention of the Nepali Congress (NC) is to hold the election as per the party’s old statute.

Organising a press conference here today, the election committee formed by the Nepali Congress Special General Convention informed that the election is going to be held as per the old statute of the party.

Senior advocate Sitaram KC, coordinator of the election committee, said that election would be held for one president, two vice-presidents, two general secretaries, eight joint general secretaries and 121 members as per the old statute.

The committee was formed under the convenorship of senior advocate KC as per the procedure laid down by the special general convention to have a five-member election committee.

According to KC, the election committee will be held from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm. Out of the total 4,743 voters in the party’s 14th general convention, there are currently 4,635 general convention delegates excluding those who died and joined other parties.
