Commercial banks earn around Rs 26 billion profit in five months

Kathmandu. In the first five months of the current fiscal year, 20 commercial banks have earned a net profit of Rs 25.72 billion. Global IME Bank and Nabil Bank are ahead in the list.

Global IME Bank continues to be the top gainer in the bank for the past five months. During the period, the bank earned a net profit of Rs 3.22 billion. Nabil Bank was in the second position with a net profit of Rs 3.11 billion.

Other banks that earned a profit of Rs 1.92 billion were Prime Commercial Bank, Everest Bank Rs 1.89 billion, NMB Bank Rs 1.65 billion and Kumari Bank Rs 1.52 billion. Likewise, Nepal Investment Bank earned a net profit of Rs 1.23 billion, Prabhu Bank Rs 1.16 billion and Standard Chartered Bank Rs 1.16 billion.

Similarly, Himalayan Bank made a profit of Rs 1.13 billion, Rastriya Banijya Bank Rs 1.09 billion and Sanima Bank Rs 1.06 billion. Similarly, Laxmi Sunrise Bank and Nepal SBI Bank earned a net profit of Rs 92.66 crore, while Siddhartha Bank earned a net profit of Rs 1.01 billion.

During the period, Machhapuchchhre Bank made a profit of Rs 84.36 crore, while NIC Asia Bank and Nepal Bank earned Rs 59.55 crore. Similarly, Agricultural Development Bank and Citizens Bank earned a net profit of Rs 41.72 crore.
