Acting President Khadka urges NC to resolve disputes based on past decisions and precedent

. KATHMANDU: Acting President of the Nepali Congress, Purna Bahadur Khadka, has urged the government to resolve the dispute seen in the party at the earliest on the basis of past decisions and precedent of the Election Commission.

He reached the EC today along with most of the office-bearers and members of the central committee elected from the 14th general convention of the party, and urged the government to resolve the problem.TAG_OPEN_div_20

Acting President Khadka clarified that the party’s legitimacy would not be acceptable if the EC decided to finalize the party’s legitimacy against the past decisions and precedents.TAG_OPEN_div_18

He said that they had come to the EC on the basis of news disseminated by various media about the Nepali Congress, and submitted details to Acting Chief Election Commissioner Ram Prasad Bhandari informing him that 885 general convention delegates had withdrawn their signatures in connection with the special general convention.TAG_OPEN_div_16

Nepali Congress leader Dr Shekhar Koirala expressed his confidence that the party’s official legitimacy would be decided as per the democratic process.TAG_OPEN_div_14 Stating that no commissioner would get legitimacy by going to Tundikhel to start the election program, he expressed the belief that the official decision on the dispute would be taken on the same basis.

Receiving the document, Acting Chief Commissioner Bhandari said that the EC would take decision based on the rules and procedures.TAG_OPEN_div_12 He also urged all to actively participate in all the election programmes.
