Kathmandu. KATHMANDU: Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) has made arrangements to provide relief on loans to businessmen and borrowers directly affected by the extraordinary situation created by the Genji agitation. The licensed banks and financial institutions can reschedule or restructure the loan by ascertaining the status of the borrowers affected by the agitation.
According to the NRB, the loan can be rescheduled and restructuring subject to the specified conditions after the borrower recovers a minimum of 5 percent of the interest to be paid.
Accordingly, the loan re-tabulation or restructuring should be done by mid-January 2082 at the request of the borrower. The NRB has stated that the loans so rescheduled or restructured should be classified in the same category as they were at the end of Ashad 2082 BS.
