Kathmandu. Locals of Chandragiri Municipality are now getting 50 percent discount on cable car rides.

The 16th general meeting of Chandragiri Hills Pvt. Ltd., the promoter company of cable car, had decided to provide such discount to the locals of Chandragiri Municipality, Thaha Municipality and Indrasarovar Rural Municipality of Makwanpur district to be effective from January 15. The decision has come into effect from January 2 as there is a public holiday on January 15.

Currently, the bus fare is Rs 825 for a cable car ride. Earlier, the company had been offering 25 percent discount to the residents of one to five wards around the base station of the cable car. “A year ago, the municipality executive took the initiative to provide discount to all the residents of the municipality in such a way that all the residents of the municipality would take ownership,” said Krishna Khadgi, spokesperson of the municipality and chairman of Ward No 3.

The beneficiaries are required to produce documents showing that they are local of Chandragiri, Thaha or Indrasarovar and they have to be present in person for ticket purchase.
