152 polling stations in Rautahat listed as highly sensitive

Rautahat. The District Security Committee has listed 152 polling stations out of 277 polling stations in Rautahat as highly sensitive for the upcoming House of Representatives election scheduled for March 4.

Chairperson of the District Security Committee and Chief District Officer Dinesh Sagar Bhusal said that the polling stations located in different local levels have been listed as highly sensitive in view of security. One hundred polling stations are in the sensitive list while the remaining 25 polling stations are in the general list, said Bhusal. There are 67 polling stations in Constituency-1, 72 in Constituency-2, 77 in Constituency-3 and 61 in Constituency-4.

Chief of District Election Office, Chhote Lal Das said 541 voting centres have been set up in Rautahat in the House of Representatives election scheduled for March 4. In the 2079 BS elections, there were 276 polling stations but one more has been added this year. A new polling booth has been added in Garuda municipality-6, said Das.

A total of 21,156 voters have been added in this year’s election. According to Das, there are 436,611 voters in the district. There were 415,455 voters in the 2079 BS election to the House of Representatives. There are two rural municipalities and 16 municipalities in Rautahat.
