Kathmandu. Nepali Congress (NC) President Sher Bahadur Deuba has decided not to contest the upcoming elections to the House of Representatives.
Nomination is scheduled for the election today. Deuba’s secretariat has said that he will not contest the election.
Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba has moved the Supreme Court (SC) against the appointment of Gagan Thapa as the party president. The hearing on the case filed by Deuba at the Supreme Court against the Election Commission’s decision to recognize Gagan Thapa is underway today. Deuba’s close aide Bimalendra Nidhi, Prakash Sharan Mahat and Bijay Gachchhadar are contesting the election with the ticket signed by Gagan Thapa.
