Department imposes Rs 50,000 fine on Khilunga Kalika Marketing

Kathmandu. The Department of Commerce, Supplies and Consumer Protection has slapped a fine of Rs 50,000 to a firm.

The department has fined Khilunga Kalika Marketing Pvt Ltd, Suryabinayak-2, Balkot after it was found negligent in course of monitoring.

According to the Department, action was taken against the firm as per the Consumer Protection Act, 2075. The department had carried out on-site monitoring of 12 more firms. The department has issued corrective directives after monitoring and inspecting various firms.

The department has been regularly monitoring the market and enforcing the law. The department has clarified that the monitoring was carried out with the participation of local administration and consumer rights activists.
