Spokesperson at the Ministry of Health and Population, Dr Prakash Budhathoki, said that Joint-Secretary Poudel has been given the responsibility of acting executive director to keep the leadership of the Board vacant.

“The chief post should not be kept vacant in an important place like the Insurance Board. Therefore, Joint-Secretary Poudel has been given the responsibility of acting executive director for some time,” he said.

Executive Director Dr Raghuram Kafle resigned from his post on Sunday.

Officiating Executive Director Poudel is the chief of Policy, Planning and Monitoring Division of the Ministry. According to the ministry’s spokesperson, Dr Budhathoki, he has been given the responsibility to look after both the board and the division in policy and planning.
