Myagdi. The river control work has begun in Lamakhet. The Pokhara-based Irrigation and Water Resources Management Project has started works to control river erosion.
According to the project engineer Narjung Gurung, a contract agreement was signed with the construction company for the construction of a 129-metre long composite wall at Armadi of Kushma municipality-4 and Lamakhet of Jaljala rural municipality.
Stating that works were underway with the target of completing the composite wall within the current fiscal year, he said river control projects were being implemented in six places of Parbat and Mustang, which are at risk of erosion in the Kaligandaki river.
