Baitadi. Winter rain accompanied by snowfall has been taking place in the hilly districts of Sudurpaschim Province since Friday evening.

Khodpe, Shreebhawar, Dholyamod, Musyachor, Satbanjh and Dehimadau among other places in the high-mountainous region of Baitadi have received snowfall, said Suraj Singh, Police Inspector at the District Police Office, Baitadi.

Inspector Singh said that although it is snowing with rain, there is no problem on the highways. Byas and Apihimal areas of Darchula have received snowfall. According to police, Dadeldhura district headquarters, Hagulte, Sahukharka and Bhatkanda areas received snowfall.

The farmers here are happy after the first time this year received winter rain and snowfall. Wheat and other winter crops were drying up here due to lack of rainfall for the past four months.

The farmers are happy that the crops will be harvested after the snowfall and rain. Due to snowfall, the cold has increased. Health workers have urged people to stay away from cold.
