Kathmandu. Hetauda: A fire broke out in a godown of Mahashakti Soap Industry at Hetauda Sub-metropolis-8.

The fire broke out last night due to short circuit and destroyed all the soaps, raw materials and packing materials inside the godown, said manager of the soap industry, Prakash Budhathoki.

“The extent of loss in the fire is not immediately ascertained”, he said, adding, “The extent of damage can be ascertained only after looking at the data. “Looking at this, it can be estimated that the loss was around Rs 10-12 crore,” he said.

Although the fire suddenly broke out in the middle of the night and immediately took the fire under control, efforts were made to put the fire under control, Budhathoki said.

Spokesperson of District Police Office, Makawanpur, Deputy Superintendent of Police Pushkar Bogati said the fire was brought under control with the joint efforts of Nepal Police and Armed Police Force, Nepal Police and locals.
