Banke. Industrialists and businessmen have urged the candidate for the House of Representatives to bring a long-term strategic plan to make the district prosperous.
Entrepreneurs have urged the entrepreneurs to come up with a long-term strategic plan, saying illegal smuggling from Nepalgunj checkpoint has ruined the business of the district, the construction of Integrated Check Post (ICP) has not been able to contribute to economic mobility in Banke and the government has not made a plan for the construction of industrial zone in Naubasta.
On the occasion, General Secretary of Nepalgunj Chamber of Commerce and Industry Bhim Ranabhat urged the candidates to bring a long-term strategic plan as prosperity could be achieved only if environment conducive for the industry and business sector flourished.
“A strategic plan with long-term impact is necessary for the overall development of Banke. It should be addressed with concrete decision after being elected,” General Secretary Ranabhat said, adding, “It is necessary to make the candidates who work honestly for the economic development and prosperity of Banke to make them victorious.” ”
Former central member of Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI), Krishna Prasad Shrestha, pointed out the need to work with a strategic plan for the overall development of the country.
“The people’s representatives who win the election from the district should work for positive change in order to focus the state’s attention on the prosperity of the landslides,” Shrestha said, adding, “Development is not only about physical infrastructure, it also means uplifting the living standard of the people.” ”
He said that the people’s representatives Banke needed to expedite the construction of Naubasta Industrial Zone, complete the incomplete work of Sikta Irrigation Project and exert pressure on the government to upgrade Nepalgunj Airport to international standard.
Saying infrastructure development was necessary to develop Banke National Park as a centre of tourist attraction, Shrestha stressed the need of formulating policy-level arrangements to address the loss of life and property caused by wildlife in the district.
Bhaskar Kafle, a hotel entrepreneur of Nepalgunj, said that although there was huge potential for hotel and tourism business in Nepalgunj, it was necessary to make the candidates with overall development plan victorious.
CPN-UML’s Mohammad Ishtiyak Rai, who is contesting from Banke constituency-2, vowed to work for improving people’s living standard along with the physical infrastructure if elected. Giving examples of works he carried out while he was the minister in the past, he pledged to develop economic, educational and health sectors for economic prosperity.
