Voting for National Assembly election begins in all seven provinces today

Kathmandu. The Election Commission (EC) has said that all preparations have been completed for the election of 18 posts in the National Assembly to be held from 9 am to 3 pm on January 24.

Out of the total 18 posts in Koshi Province, one post under the Khas Arya category was unopposed while election is taking place today for the remaining 17 posts, EC Spokesperson Narayan Prasad Bhattarai said. Sunil Bahadur Thapa of Nepali Congress was elected unopposed from the Khas Aryatarp constituency in Koshi Province. Polling stations and polling centres have been determined for the remaining 17 posts.

Polling stations have been fixed at Mahendra Narayan Nidhi Mithila Culture Centre in Janakpur Sub Metropolitan City-4 and Bhutandevi Secondary School in Hetauda Sub-Metropolitan City-4 in Makwanpur.

Likewise, voting will be held at Gandaki Province Election Office in Pokhara, Employees Meeting Center in Ghorahi Dang of Lumbini Province, Birendranagar, Surkhet in Karnali Province and Province Election Office Dhangadhi Kailali for Sudurpaschim Province.

State Assembly members, mayors and deputy mayors and chairpersons and vice-chairpersons of rural municipalities will cast their votes for NA election.
