Until a few years ago, the construction of concrete houses was especially in the urban markets, but in recent years, the trend of demolishing old houses and building new concrete houses has increased in the villages.

President of Waling Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Chet Narayan Shrestha, said that the Waling Chamber of Commerce and Industry has constructed the Kudule house at the festival venue with the objective of protecting and promoting the old and endangered goods with the increasing construction of concrete houses in the market and villages.

“The older generation is aware of the round house, some might have even lived there,” he said, adding, “With the development of time and modernity, the later generation has not seen such type of houses. ”

The round house made of bamboo, straw, wood and mud will be the main attraction of the ninth Waling Festival. He said that the round house was built with the intention of reflecting the surroundings of the very old village at a time when the houses covered with straw were disappearing.

Waling Chamber of Commerce and Industry co-treasurer and coordinator of the Golghar construction sub-committee, Keshav Parajuli, said that the house was built for the visitors visiting the festival venue. The Golghar will have two floors. The roof and roof of the house are covered with straw.

“Kudu will keep the materials especially used by our older generations,” he said, adding that the house will be decorated with items such as jato, dheeki, plough, yoke, theko, and other materials that reflect the old lifestyle. ”

The walls of the house have been plastered with red and white clay. Inside, in the house, in the courtyard and in the courtyard, cow dung is smeared with mud. The Waling Chamber of Commerce and Industry has said that the round house built for the festival will be preserved even after the festival. The Waling Festival has been held every ÷two years since 2063 BS. The ninth edition of the festival is scheduled to run from January 28 to January 25. Preparations for the festival have been completed.
