Kathmandu. Nepal has earned Rs 1.87 billion by exporting chhurpi in the first six months of the current fiscal year.

Nepal has exported 1,388,959 kilograms of chhurpi to 30 different countries in the last six months. Chhurpi is exported from Nepal to foreign countries as food for dogs and cats. The United States is the largest market for Nepal’s Chhurpi. In the six months period, 911,163 kg worth Rs 1,613,398,000 was exported to the United States. Similarly, 81,254 kilograms of chhurpi worth Rs 122.7 million was exported to Canada.

According to the Department of Customs, 81,254 kg of chhurpi worth Rs 32.3 million was exported to the UK in the last six months.

Nepal exports to Japan, Korea, Dubai, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Singapore, New Zealand, the Netherlands, Taibai Province of China, Greece, Israel, Thailand, Brazil, Australia, Germany, Italy, France and Lebanon in 2018.
