Kathmandu. In today’s meeting of the National Assembly, Sumitra BC demanded that the government inform the House about the progress of the commission formed to investigate the human and physical damages that took place during the protests on September 7 and 24.
National Assembly member Ganga Kumari Belbase informed that the number of people losing their lives and getting injured in the national parks and surrounding areas due to wild animals has been increasing every year.
Another lawmaker Gopi Bahadur Sarki said elephant menace is increasing in Jhapa, Morang, Sunsari and Udayapur among other districts.
Lawmaker Tulasa Kumari Dahal stressed on the need of providing health services and preparedness to prevent the spread of communicable diseases like measles and rubella in Sarlahi district.
Maya Prasad Sharma complained that the victims of Jajarkot earthquake have not received adequate relief yet. She said that the life of earthquake survivors has been difficult due to lack of reconstruction works.
Sharada Devi Bhatta demanded stringent punishment against those driving under the influence of alcohol and violating traffic rules.
